A. SATs Are Statutory
KS2 SATs are mandatory for almost all Year 6 pupils
Attendance during SATs week is expected and important
Holidays will not normally be authorised
This is set out in STA guidance for parents.
B. What SATs Do (and Do Not) Affect
SATs measure attainment against the national curriculum
Results are one piece of information about a child’s learning
SATs do not determine secondary school places
C. Special Consideration and Access Arrangements
Reasonable adjustments and access arrangements are available where appropriate
Decisions are made by the school in line with STA guidance
Parents will be informed if this applies to their child
D. Teacher Assessment and Results Sharing
Writing and science are assessed by teacher judgement
Results are shared with parents before the end of the summer term
Results are also transferred to secondary schools
