At Upper Nidderdale Primary Federation, our vision to Believe, Achieve and Inspire underpins everything we do. Our Community Give Back initiative reflects this vision by bringing people together to support one another and strengthen our wider school community.
In challenging times—particularly with the ongoing legacy of COVID-19 and rising living costs—the importance of connection, kindness, and mutual support has never been greater. By working collaboratively, we aim to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others, while building a caring, inclusive, and resilient community for all.
We are committed to helping our children understand the importance of giving back. Through hands-on experiences and community involvement, they develop empathy, compassion, and a strong sense of social responsibility. These values not only support their personal growth but also inspire them to make positive contributions—both now and in the future.

It is so wonderful that we have such talented and creative individuals at Glasshouses. Even better when a Pupil Parliament leader wants to run an Art club at lunchtime to help other pupils develop their creative flair. The club has become a regular part of our weekly routine and the children love creating something new each time!

What can you do?
Whilst there are many acts of giving that are without costs, there are some that require funding. We want to work with local businesses to secure the finances required. An example of this would be our family breakfasts – an opportunity for families to enjoy a free meal together. This is a chance for our school community to come together, which increases the sense of belonging. We will work hard to create partnerships with like-minded businesses who want to support their community by giving back.
Do you have a business or work for a business that likes to support community projects? If so, please get in touch to see how you could work with us. We’d also like to hear from you if you have any ideas for future events. Most importantly, please come along and get involved.
