Welcome to our website

This website will give you a sense of who we are and what our Federation is about. It is a wonderful place for children to be nurtured in a holistic, and family environment, within which all children flourish and develop their skills and talents. You will be able to see the learning opportunities that take place in our small schools and what we have to offer.

About our Federation

Our Federation comprises of two small, rural, primary schools – St Cuthbert’s C of E School and Glasshouses CP school, not far from Harrogate in the beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is Nidderdale. All the schools within our Federation have a long history of providing education in the communities they serve, each with its own unique identity.

Headteacher’s message

Welcome to our Federation

We consider it the greatest privilege to be entrusted with your child; sharing the responsibility and honour of helping your child to become the best that they can be.

At Upper Nidderdale Primary Federation we aim to nurture each child individually by providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment within which all children can flourish and learn the CHAMPS way. We are lucky to be in the area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is Nidderdale, not far from Harrogate.

Each of our schools is unique and offers the privilege of small class sizes, and as a federation, every pupil benefits from specialist teachers, joint learning sessions with wider groups of pupils, learning sessions with wider groups of pupils, and learning opportunities beyond the prescribed national curriculum.

We will develop the awareness and understanding of the social, emotional and physical well-being of each child. We inspire a joy of learning through creative teaching to build on individual success, which will prepare your child for life.

We will offer opportunities that are beyond daily routines to broaden their experience, influence their life choices and help them to become a valuable member of both the school community and the wider world.

As a Rights Respecting School, we pride ourselves on the warm, all-embracing and respectful nature of our school and we look forward to welcoming you to our community.

If you are looking for a school that offers something beyond the ordinary; a place where your child will be safe, happy, and have the resilience to learn in an ever-changing world, then you are in the right place!
